The Wednesday Week are hosting a special “pub hour” on Wednesday, 25th March from 8 pm.
We want to enable Sheffield Wednesday fans from around the world to chat and share a virtual pint with each other as a way of battling the difficulties facing people in self-isolation.
It’s never been more important that as a nation we keep talking. Just hearing someone’s voice is proven to reduce anxiety and stress. This is a key part of ITV’s Britain Get Talking campaign’s messaging and we want to encourage others to do so.
As football fans, we rely on the social aspect of the game; meeting friends, talking, sharing chats in the pub.
Let’s be honest… we don’t really have any football to talk about on the podcast, although we’re working on some ideas, so we thought this might be a nice way to get people together.
Grab a drink at home – soft and hot drinks allowed, obviously – and join us all via a weblink to chat and get together without risking each other’s health.
It’s really important that we find a way through this social isolation and we reach out to each other. Sheffield Wednesday is a family, so we want to keep in touch.
The important bit:
Be nice or be booted – this is not a platform for trolling, abuse or otherwise. We’re just trying to do something different.
This is our first attempt at this. Technology could let us down, but we’re giving it a go.
Please note this will work better with a laptop!!!
You can join the Wednesday Week team from 8pm on Wednesday, 25th March by heading to ZOOM
